Novo Nordisk Stock Surges 6% As Wegovy Pill Sales Crush Estimates

Novo Nordisk shares climbed more than 6% in early trading on Wednesday after its Wegovy pill outsold expectations and the company raised its full-year guidance. The Danish drugmaker now expects adjusted revenue and operating profit to range from a 2% decline to 2% growth at constant exchange rates, up from a previous forecast of minus 6% to flat. Third-quarter sales rose 4% to 79.2 billion Danish kroner, or $11.9 billion, ahead of the 73.6 billion kroner estimate. The Wegovy pill, launched this year, brought in 5.4 billion kroner against expectations of about 4.5 billion. Injectable Wegovy and Ozempic also beat forecasts. CFO Karsten Munk Knudsen will step down at the end of 2026 and be replaced by Galderma’s Luigi La Corte. Novo has fallen behind Eli Lilly this year, and its Copenhagen shares are still down about 17% in 2026.
