Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the global economy no longer runs on a nine-to-five schedule, and money needs to move as freely as people now do. Speaking at Ripple Swell in New York on Wednesday, Garlinghouse said users expect their assets to travel across borders with the same speed and flexibility as their daily lives. He said Ripple has pushed the idea of an “internet of value” since its founding, where money moves as easily as information online. Garlinghouse added that Ripple can help build that system and that XRP can play a central role in it. His comments came on the same day Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin went live on Coinbase.
