Gold Price Faces $4,000 Support as WTI Oil Eyes $100 Year-End Ceiling

Published by

Gold and crude oil face potential pressure heading into year-end as energy prices and the Iran war become key issues ahead of the US midterm elections. WTI crude has never ended a calendar year above $100 per barrel, while US production costs are estimated at around $55 per barrel. Meanwhile, rising interest rates and stronger political checks and balances could weigh on gold prices, potentially pushing them below the $4,000-an-ounce support level. Investors will monitor energy prices, interest rates and election developments.
