Former Thai PM Proposes a Bitcoin Sandbox in Phuket

In a recent crypto news, Thailand’s former PM, Thaksin Shinawatra, has proposed transforming Phuket into a Bitcoin sandbox, letting foreign tourists spend BTC on real estate and tourism freely. This comes as the Thailand International Digital Business & Finance Center appoints Movement Labs’ Rushi Manche and Dao5’s Tekin Salimi as blockchain advisors. With crypto payment demand surging among tourists, Thailand’s crypto scene is shifting fast. If this proposal gains traction, Phuket could soon emerge as a global hotspot for Bitcoin-powered transactions, boosting both tourism and the country’s digital economy.
