The U.S. Department of Justice has officially disbanded its crypto enforcement unit, effective immediately, following an order from Donald Trump. The move shifts the DOJ’s focus away from targeting crypto exchanges, mixers like Tornado Cash, and offline wallets. Instead, the department has been directed to prioritize prosecuting individuals who defraud or exploit digital asset investors. The decision marks a significant change in how the U.S. plans to approach crypto-related crimes going forward.
