CLARITY Act Vote At Risk As House Cancels Final Two Weeks Of September

House leadership has canceled the chamber’s last two weeks of September, according to Jake Sherman, meaning the House will be out of session by September 17, just two days after the Senate’s scheduled initial CLARITY Act vote on September 15. The scheduling change raises the risk that the CLARITY Act may not get a House vote until after the midterms, during a lame-duck session where one or both chambers could flip control. Industry watchers have flagged the development as potentially significant setback for crypto’s push toward federal regulatory clarity this year.
