Sohrab Khawas

Despite a 2021 ban, Bitcoin mining is quietly growing again in China. Miners are taking advantage of cheap electricity and excess energy in places like Xinjiang and Sichuan. China now accounts for about 14% of the global Bitcoin hashrate and ranks as the third-largest mining hub worldwide. Industry experts estimate 15%–20% of global Bitcoin mining happens in China today, showing a strong return fueled by low costs and evolving local conditions.
