Cboe BZX Exchange has filed a proposal to allow staking for the 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF, the first such filing with the SEC. The proposal, outlined in Form 19b-4, awaits regulatory approval. Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart noted that this could mark a shift in SEC policy, which previously pushed firms to exclude staking from ETF registrations. With the SEC’s stance on crypto expected to soften under the Trump administration, this move could set a precedent for Ethereum staking in regulated investment products.
