Jihan Wu’s Bitcoin mining firm, Bitdeer, has acquired 19 acres near Fox Creek, Alberta, for $21.7 million, securing a 101 MW site permit. The company plans to build a natural gas power plant and a 99 MW Bitcoin mining data center. The power plant’s construction will require an additional $90 million, while the data center investment is estimated at $30 million. This expansion strengthens Bitdeer’s goal of becoming a fully integrated mining firm, managing its own infrastructure, power generation, and ASIC chips for efficient Bitcoin mining operations.
