Veteran Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr has departed Ocean Mining Pool, resigning from his roles as Chairman, CTO and Director. Parent company Mummolin bought back his equity stake in a move both sides described as mutually agreed, citing differing views on Bitcoin mining’s future direction and recent protocol changes. Dashjr, an Ocean co-founder, is launching a new mining venture called Convoy following his exit. Ocean confirmed it will continue running its transparent, non-custodial pool, which distributes mining rewards directly to participants. The resignation comes weeks after Dashjr took leave following the failure of his BIP-110 proposal, a contested initiative that sought to restrict non-financial data storage on Bitcoin.
