Base Attacker Loses Funds to MEV Bot After $500,000 Wallet Drain

A wallet controlled by an attacker drained approximately 500,000 USDC from a victim address on the Base network, according to PeckShield. However, the attacker’s subsequent token swap lacked sufficient slippage protection and was sandwiched by an MEV bot, significantly reducing the proceeds. As a result, the attacker reportedly received only about 67 WETH, worth roughly $129,000, instead of the full value of the stolen funds.
