Microsoft to Acquire 49% Stake in ChatGPT

As per Semafor, Microsoft is discussing the possibility of acquiring the parent company of ChatGPT - OpenAI.

The tech giant is ready to pay $10 billion for the acquisition.

Microsoft’s investment includes a peculiar agreement. The firm would receive 75% of OpenAI’s income until it has recovered its initial investment.

Microsoft would acquire a 49% stake while other investors would take over the other 49%. The remaining 2% goes to OpenAI’s non-profit parent firm.
