Malaysian Ministry Calls for Crypto to Be Legal Tender

Malaysia's Communication Ministry has proposed to the government that crypto currencies like bitcoin be accepted as legal tender.

Deputy Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin remarked, "We're hoping the government will agree,”

"We're trying to figure out how to make this legal so that we can encourage youth to participate in crypto and help them."

He also noted that crypto currency is regulated by the country's central bank and Securities Commission.
