Blockchain.com Raises New Funding at $14 Billion Valuation

In an investment round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Blockchain.com was valued at $14 billion, with Baille Gifford & Co. participating "significantly."

In March of last year, the U.K.-based company raised $300 million, valuing it at $5.2 billion. Lightspeed and VY Capital were participating in that round.

In April, Baillie Gifford, located in Edinburgh, put $100 million into the project.

Blockchain said that it would relocate its U.S. headquarters from New York to Miami in 2021.

According to its website, the exchange, which was launched in 2011, has 37 million verified users and handles one-third of all bitcoin network transactions.
