DeFi Kingdoms is a play-to-earn game launched on August 22, 2021 as a DEX. DeFi Kingdoms blends the appeal of decentralized finance and the current rise of Play-to-Earn economics.
Built on the Harmony blockchain with a native coin ONE and offering an online world in the nostalgic form of fantasy pixel art, the team’s key goal was to build a DeFi project that would embrace the full potential of the blockchain and to create a game where players would be able to invest and make a profit.
With that, DeFi Kingdoms aims to make Decentralized Finance (DeFi) secure and accessible to everybody.
Before we get into the logistics of gameplay, one thing that really makes Defi Kingdoms stand out is the beautiful fantasy pixel art.
It’s a nostalgic experience that is easy to use (a tutorial pops up for first time users!), beautiful, and fun.
The DeFi Kingdoms ecosystem includes a game, an exchange, a native token, hero Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and a liquidity pool.
Powered by JEWEL Token
The game is built with a single DEX with liquidity pool opportunity intended to provide a variety of utility tokens along with DFK’s primary token, JEWEL.
JEWEL allows players to earn actual tradeable tokens instead of just investing in the game.
The JEWEL token is used to purchase useful items and unique NFTs such as Heroes and Kingdoms in the game, as well as various in-game items.
Not only is the token used in-game, it is also used for liquidity mining to earn more through staking. JEWEL is also a governance token so holders will have a say in the growth and evolution of the project.
Another way that Defi Kingdoms stands out is that players are offered unique NFTs with actual built-in utility. NFT Heroes are one of the key features in the game.
They are playable characters who protect the gardens, mine JEWEL tokens, and forage for resources. Hero NFTs can be bought, traded, combined, and leveled up.
The game provides players with some impressive features including the Gardens and Bank. The Gardens enable players to earn more JEWEL by staking LP tokens.
After harvesting or unlocking tokens, gardeners deposit their yield in the vault representing their share of JEWEL tokens in the mined block.
Another feature of DeFi Kingdoms is the Bank, where you can stake JEWEL tokens to receive xJEWEL shares and earn staking bonuses.
The Bank also stores commissions from the DEX and buys JEWEL tokens on the market.
In November of this year, Defi Kingdoms announced their first step in their Defi Kingdoms Universe expansion strategy by teaming with Avalanche to launch a new realm, Defi Kingdoms: Crystalvale.
This will make Defi Kingdoms the first multi-chain game. DeFi Kingdoms will continue to grow with new features, systems, maps, and cross-chain expansions. Check out their roadmap to see what other exciting milestones are coming up.
