While cryptocurrency as an accepted payment method is still in its infancy, many companies around the world are getting on board.
Recently, Amazon Owned gaming platform – Twitch has started accepting Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) payments once again.
Previously, in March, Twitch had stopped providing the option of making subscription payments in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash without any kind of notice by removing Bitpay link. At present, the crypto payment link is available, referring that the platform will start accepting cryptocurrency payments.
However, the reestablishment of crypto payment facility was neither informed through blog nor press release.
On the other hand, on June 26, San Francisco-based payment company “Square” also made bitcoin deposits available on its popular “Cash App” platform.
Cash App users will now be able to deposit bitcoins from external wallets into their app bitcoin address. As per Square’s announcement, deposits are limited to $10,000 worth of bitcoin in a seven day period. The platform also claims that transfers could take several hours to be confirmed on the blockchain.
Bitcoin trading in the $3,000-$4,000 range at the beginning of 2019 — has recently rallied and broke $13,000. As of press time, bitcoin is down 13.47% on the day trading at $11,016.02.
