With the rise in the crypto tide, there has been a launch in a new lightning way, Tippin.me. This technique allows the users to receive tips and micro-payments everywhere, using the lightning network. Tippin.me also allows users to give rewards or tip some good quality Twitter posts.
According to the app developer, Sergio Abril, the tippin service has been receiving about 13,000 downloads since few weeks. Hence, it is shifting towards the adoption of the budding network. The demand for the application raised when the founder of Twitter and Cash, Jack Dorsey, endorsed the application.
Once the application is installed, each tweet consists of the lightning bolt symbol, which supports the lightning network and mainly Bitcoin. Whether Twitter will incorporate this extension or not is still not known.
Jack Dorsey’s participation is quite crucial as he is an ardent supporter of the lightning network. He is also the first investors in the Lightning Labs. As a tech visionary, a lot of responsibilities lie on his shoulders. In a conference jack said,
“The internet is going to have a native currency so let’s not wait for it to happen, let’s help it happen. I don’t know if it will be bitcoin but I hope it will be.”
Tippin.me was quite trending in the last week as a host of luminaries from crypto world joined Dorsey’s tweet praising the app. Some of the experts also reported their earnings, as Neeraj K. Agrawal, from the middle Decrypt, raised USD $5 at that time with tips from users.
A Blockchain consultant, Dan Rusnac also praised the application on medium saying,
“Not only the Twitter experience completely changes but it also open limitless future scenarios: an internet where, thanks to this extension/s, you can tip people on all socials (it can be for a tweet, for an article, for a video, for a comment, etc.), thus creating a new way to raise money by content creators without the need of a central agency and without the need of creating a new social platform and economic system from scratch!”
