Tron, a major competitor of Ethereum, has just marked a new record, reaching 1,841,055 Txs per day. Tron’s founder, Justin Sun, announced this new record on Twitter: “New record 1,841,055 Txs per day! Will break 2 million very soon!” He also attached an image showing the network currently has 671, 103 accounts. It now has 1911 online nodes and a block height of 1,424,121. The system has just created a new milestone for itself too.
Tron taking on Ethereum
The project has been taking giant strides as it inches closer to breaking the dominance of Ethereum. It’s not just the Tron network that is growing, the decentralized applications (d-apps) on it are also changing the game. In October, Tron’s d-app, TRONbet, did about half a million individual transactions. The daily active users on TRONbet is around 1,923.
TRON is one of the biggest blockchain-based operating systems in the world, competing fairly with Ethereum. It has been able to surpass Bitcoin and Ethereum in transaction per second.
In September, Justin Sun took a dig at Ethereum on twitter. “Yes! Please stop deploying d-apps to Ethereum and migrate to #TRON network immediately! We are 100x faster than #ETH and fully compatible with #ethereum. We 100% guarantee better user experience,” he said.
Bakkt, a new cryptocurrency platform backed by the Intercontinental Exchange, expressed interest in adding cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin, in a Q&A on Twitter on Friday. Justin Sun retweeted Bakkt’s post stating that TRX would be the best choice whenever Bakkt decides to add more digital currencies to its platform.
Also, a Tron enthusiast, Misha Lederman, tweeted the letter sent on behalf of the Tron community to Bakkt responding to their tweet. The letter makes a significant case for Tron to be the next listed asset. Tron currently has a market capitalization of $886,998,918 and selling at $0.013479. It has performed just as poorly as the general cryptocurrency market this year. It has lost over 74% of its market value.
