Fans can now win Bitcoins when playing fantasy football following the launch of two contests by FanDuel.
Bitcoin Bowl Free Play
One of those contests is the The Bitcoin Bowl Free Play to be held on the Week 1 of the NFL Playoffs. One person will get a chance to win one Bitcoin.
The second is Bitcoin Bowl Tournament, a multi-entry, $3 entry fee tournament. The first place winner will win two Bitcoins, while the second place winner will win a half a Bitcoin and the third place winner a quarter Bitcoin.
The development will help promote Bitcoin among players and fans. Bitcoin valued at $15,086.20 that tremendously fluctuates on daily basis.
“FanDuel has always sought to deliver the most unique and rewarding experiences or prizes to our users,” said Andy Giancamilli, FanDuel CFO. “In awarding Bitcoin, we’re recognizing that most of our users are early adopters of technology and have a significant interest in cryptocurrency.”
Players will need to enter the competition and pick lineup by the first NFL playoff game on Saturday, January 6.
FanDuel is not accepting Bitcoin as entry fees at present. This is a one-time promotion. It is an indication that more people are focusing cryptocurrencies. The technology could enhance and facilitate many things in many ways.
