Coinbase Launched “Coinbase Commerce Button” for Merchants like PayPal Plugin

Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchange has launched “Coinbase Commerce button” for merchants. By integrating this new service on websites, merchants will have direct access to crypto payments from Coinbase merchants which was otherwise completed only after creating an account on Coinbase.

When it comes to online payment, PayPal and Credit card are the most popular choice of online customers, and thus the majority of merchants integrate the same. The largest cryptocurrency brokerage and exchange in the world, Coinbase has launched payment button for Merchants. The “Coinbase Commerce button” works similarly as PayPal Plugin. Only existing merchants of Coinbase can enjoy the service benefit. However, they are not open for new merchants.

Button supports four cryptocurrencies

Once a customer completed its requirement and reached checkout page, he can view Coinbase commerce button along with other payment options like PayPal or Credit card. As a crypto broker, Coinbase has listed four cryptocurrencies to its payment button; Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin, and Litecoin.

Moreover, when a user taps on their preferred cryptocurrency from, a new window will open to complete payment. Herein he can view product cost and crypto address to proceed payment. However, they can also pay by scanning QR code.

Since the exchange is not open for a new merchant, it is unclear how Coinbase’s merchant payment service works exactly. However, it is exciting to see how this new service from Coinbase operate when a customer opts Bitcoin payment and unexpectedly system experience server backlogs.
