Coinbase to Explore Five New Cryptocurrency Assets

US based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced that it is looking forward to explore the addition of five new coins to its exchange list.

On July 13, 2018 in an official blog post of Coinbase said that, it is taking up several new crypto assets to add to its exchange.

“We are exploring the addition of several new assets, and will be working with local banks and regulators to add them in as many jurisdictions as possible.”

The announcement about adding support for five new cryptocurrency tokens are:

  • Cardano (ADA)
  • basic attention token (BAT)
  • Stellar (XLM)
  • Zcash (ZEC)
  • 0x (ZRX)

Coinbase is one of the most popular crypto exchange companies that holds bit of sway in directing attention and enthusiasm in both crypto and blockchain space. However, this approach of exploration ensures to add up more interest in those particular niches.

In the previous, Coinbase declared that it was adding Ethereum Classic (ETC) which is technically similar to Ethereum. Further, Coinbase notes that while adding that asset was relatively straightforward and thus require some extra ‘exploratory work’. It also stated that it does not guarantee the new tokens will listed for trading.

Moreover, the exchange also warned regarding listing process by making some coins available for customers to buy and sell. Therefore, without any priority to send or receives them using a local wallet.

Coinbase elaborated:

“We may also only enable certain ways to interact with these assets through our site, such as supporting only deposits and withdrawals from transparent Zcash addresses. Finally, some of these assets may be offered in other jurisdictions prior to being listed in the U.S”.

According to the source, five digital coins are in green. In this regards, the digital trader, Brian Kelly said that “it isn’t surprising to see these thing up over 40 percent coming weekend”.

In the early March, Coinbase unveils its plans to support ERC20 tokens on its exchange. However, the  firm says the decision to add ERC20 provides a way for such assets across Coinbase products in upcoming days.

At present, crypto exchange Coinbase supports BTC, BCH, ETH and LTC. In addition, the company has started to be a fully regulated broker dealer by the US SEC.
