Emurgo is basically a commercial development branch at Cardano, joins a strategic partnership with Metaps to build Metaps Plus. This developing platform will power up the new card.
The new card is currently available for over 33,000 retail Korean merchants. Moreover, these include familiar Korean convenience stores namely GS25 and Emart24. The CEO at Emurgo, Ken Kodama sets the company’s goal to hit around 30 million people. Additionally, they plan with the new card to avail in denominations of 100 & 1,000 ADA.
The CEO at Metaps Plus, Seungyeon Kim states that they are happy to work with ADA and the entire team. Moreover, they feel ADA team is a strategically ready one. He also adds that Emurgo is the only partner initiating deep understanding within offline payment integration.
Their strategic focus is to provide a practical application for cryptocurrencies. We plan to develop this product further to ensure we have solid use cases for broader offline adoption with Korean online and offline merchants.
Kodama believes that a mainstream product such as a card is a step towards mass adoption. He says users can now make payments/purchases directly via the mobile app. However, this is not all, there is, even more, to know about.
Currently, with the access to charging ADA onto a crypto card, Korean users can take their ADA and physically hold them anywhere. They will have the overall daily access without any worries. Kodama expects to see this develop along with the widespread adoption utilizing this new method of payment.
The Emurgo team is putting their efforts to expand adoption all around the world. Moreover, they are also teaming up with various other blockchain firms to group Blockchain for Europe. Meanwhile, building an association to design smart regulation shaping the global agenda on the blockchain.
