Bulgaria’s Varna University of Management to offer Bitcoin scholarships

Bulgaria-based Varna University of Management, an international business school, has announced that ten candidates who applied for Software Engineering bachelor’s program undertake the studies starting Fall 2018 semester.

The value is 1000 EUR per semester and the students can choose whether to receive it in Euro currency. Else, equivalent of Bitcoins scholarships will be issues relies on student’s background and past achievements.

The university also planning to accept Bitcoin as fee payment for tuition and accommodation. The university’s School of Computer Science will also be adding modules of cryptocurrencies. Besides blockchain technology to the Software Engineering bachelor programmer.

“We strongly believe that cryptocurrency is an inevitable technical development that will lead to significant innovation in all aspects of our lives. VUM is an innovative and future-oriented university — Endorsing and integrating bitcoin is a rational choice for us. We are always interest in delivering disruptive technologies in our IT and business programmers and cryptocurrency is definitely one of them”.

The university joins many others offering courses on Bitcoin and blockchain around the world, including Blockchain university, Academy Blockchain lab, and Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance research center. It will be the only accrediting university to offer scholarships in Bitcoins according to the announcement.

The university aims to attract brightest students to Varna. Thus, it convinced that the blockchain technology will impact the world for the better.

“We are convincing that the blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are changing the world. Besides,  we think that universities should contribute to this revolution. According to this, we encourage universities and all academic institutions to embrace this change.”
