Antpool Sponsors Houston Rockets
With Bitcoin’s prices going up to $20,000 last December to $6600 as of now, cryptocurrencies are on a rollercoaster ride. Regardless the adoption craze is growing as major players in a financial industry are eyeing for crypto markets.
AntPool will set up an exhibition at Toyota Centre, home arena of Rockets, downtown Houston starting from January 2019. It is still unclear whether the logos of both Bitmain and AntPool will be featured in the arena’s courtside billboards. These billboards show an approximate of 900 million online China viewers during the live broadcast.
This campaign marks an escalation in the sponsorship between major sports leagues around the world and cryptocurrency companies. Earlier this year, a landmark deal by Premier League Club Arsenal signs with US firm CasBet.
AntPool plans to build a data center in Rockdale city which is about two hours from Houston. They have plans to expand the business in the coming years. And it pledged to invest half billion dollars in a span of seven years.
The company Bitmain operates two of the largest Bitcoin mining pools, AntPool, and BTC.com, which collectively accounts for 30 percent of all the accounting power on the global Bitcoin network.
