African nation Ethiopia is exploring its interest in blockchain-powered solutions. The nation has signed a memorandum of understanding with apprenticing cryptocurrency startup, Cardano. It utilizes blockchain technology in the industry of local agriculture.
Charles Hoskinson, Lead, and former Ethereum Co-Founder disclosed on Twitter that the initiatives will target training developers how to utilize blockchain.
Further, he says “Just signed an MOU with the Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Technology to explore training blockchain developers and use Cardano in the Agritech Industry,”.
It is still fuzzy predict when the association will begin or users can expect to see the outcome of MOU. Few people are working on connecting to Cardono firm and update with the latest news. Basically, Cardano is constructing a decentralized blockchain platform. It is supporting smart contracts and decentralized applications which are familiar to Ethereum. The platform is still in a growing stage and users still have a hope to execute their plans.
EOS CTO Dan Larimer has shared some views over the validity of the project. In spite of several critiques, the firm is busy with the work. Previously, Cardono researchers have presented a new Proof-of-Stake algorithm for its blockchain at Eurocrypto conference in Isreal.
The most important thing is that MOU doesn’t imply any binding obligations on Cardona like other formal partnerships. Basically, it means that there are no guarantees on this association to carry on the plan. The earlier Swiss-based company has aided Sierra Leona to begin the first blockchain powered elections. It is clear that the whole thing is a sham and the country is not utilizing blockchain in any of its electoral processes.
Hoskinson has acuminated more details about the association between Cardano and Ethiopia. This information is available at the official website of the Ethiopian government.
John O’Connor, Director of African states that Ethiopian developers are accepted to began using the platform by the end of 2018. Later he says “This year we will offer our first course in Africa, probably in Ethiopia, and expect the first cohort of Ethiopian developers to be contributing to Cardano code by the end of the year”.
Well! It’s great to see Ethiopia working on Blockchain technology. This is the great initiative taken by Ethiopia to explore blockchain technology.
